Hyrum Smith Photoshop Mystery Explained
If you google, "Photograph of Hyrum Smith" you may find this black and white image shown below. I found a colorized version on Hyrum's Family Search page. I decided to analyze the image, comparing him to his death mask and found everything lined up so well, particularly the unique double dimpled chin of his (seen on earlier versions of the death mask, VERY hard to find, as his original mask was damaged or dropped at some point and shows sculpting clay of a stark white, today).

I researched some more and found a painting, stated be of Hyrum Smith, based on the above "Photographs". The painting, posted below, is titled as Hyrum Smith, hangs in Hyrum Smith's final home. At this point I was positive that this was known to be a true image of Hyrum and I posted my comparison online, wondering WHY this wasn't widely know, asking such at the end. Video, below... (don't get too excited...)

I called the owner of Hyrum's home to ask WHO did the painting, I emailed the person who uploaded the colorized version to Family Search, AND I emailed the Anti-Joseph Smith blogger. No one knew very much at all. The blogger disappeared and never responded (he MAY have been the culprit...)
One day, as I was looking for images to show how much a man's nose can grow, I was googling images of Joseph F. Smith (whose nose changed DRAMATICALLY with age, btw), Hyrum Smith's son; then suddenly... I saw it...
"No. It can't be!!! They are EXACTLY THE SAME... except for the head and collar!!!!"
My mind was BLOWN.... I sat DUMBFOUNDED and greatly disappointed for 24 hours. I switched between the image of Hyrum Smith, then BACK to the image of Joseph F. Smith... and it was true, one was a FAKE!!! But which?
The Image of Joseph F. Smith was on MANY reputable websites, including the official LDS.org, here: www.lds.org/manual/teachings-joseph-f-smith/chapter-9?lang=eng Joseph F. Smith was President of the Church from 1901-1918, his descendants mostly still live near the Church headquarters, so they likely would have been easy to contact to verify the image below, really was him and not a fake.
Hyrum Smith's alleged image was NOT on reputable websites, I first found it on an anti-Joseph Smith website, where the blogger does do digitial recreations of Latter Day Saints, but none remotely as good as the one below (he is quite bad at art, so I have ruled him out the the suspect)... With the many descendants of Joseph F. Smith connected to the LDS Church, I am convinced that the Official Church of Jesus Christ Website made sure the image they posted, \ was verified by the descendants of Joseph F. Smith. The REAL has to the the lower right (of Joseph F. Smith) and the fake as to be on the bottom left. :(

I recently did a review of the Joseph F. Smith image to the "Fake Hyrum Smith" image and explain how they really are exactly the same from the neck down.
